Healing CBD & Aloe Lotion
The Natural Kore lotion was our second product to be formulated. We focused on developing a lotion that was hypoallergenic (no nut tree oils or butters), smooth application, and had healing properties. Our primary formulation contains Vermont-grown full-spectrum CBD infused olive oil, distilled water, aloe extract, glycerin (glycerol), kokum butter, beeswax, Nigella sativa (black cumin) seed extract oil and Vitamin E. We have added Nigella sativa seed oil and Rosemary essential oil to our lotion for their anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties, respectively. Our primary scent, therefore, is Rosemary essential oil because of these important properties. But, this lotion can remain unscented or other essential oils can be added.
Why do we need to add anti-fungal and anti-bacterial components to a lotion, but not the salve? Water! The lotion is about 50% water. Molds and bacteria thrive in water-based products. The salve has no added water, thus it is less likely to grown molds and other microbes. It doesn’t mean it won’t, it means that the salve will be stable longer than any lotion can be.
We recommend buying smaller quantities of lotion and/or placing your lotion container in the refrigerator if you’re not using it yet. We do not add any artificial preservatives, so to give you a quality product, we make small batches (and the products do not sit on our shelves at all) and we use simple materials, and natural preservatives like Rosemary oil, Vitamin E and Nigella sativa seed oil extract.
Not everyone likes Rosemary extract scent! Other essential oils and compounds can be added instead of Rosemary oil. We regularly make the lotion with Eucalyptus, Lavender, Peppermint, Jasmine, or Clove oil. If you’re looking for a different scent, send us a quick email and we can work with you and custom make your CBD infusion product.
